Bio
Michael Bekemeyer is a writer and filmmaker who has been working in the film and television industries for over fifteen years. His experience is broad, but has always focused on personal creative endeavors. He has written, produced and directed short films, features films, commercials, PSAs, documentaries, as well as multimedia projects.
Film
Michael’s first love is filmmaking. Currently he has three films in various stages of production and development. The first is a very small feature film called Playback, which is currently in postproduction.
The second is another independent feature film titled Pillow Talk, currently in the financing stages. A raw look at four couples self-destructive relationships and sexuality. Pillow Talk is using social networking sites such as The Creative Allience, Twitter and Facebook to raise awareness and money for the production. Coming in August is the first of such experiments, Farrago, an anthology of short stories written by numerous authors in support of Pillow Talk. All proceeds go to the film financing efforts.
The third is a recent addition …Nevermore, a horror film that explores a fictional account of the seven days leading to Edgar Allen Poe’s death. The script uses the mythology of Poe’s fiction as inspiration for the horror of what might have happened to Poe if his stories had been true. The Podcast
ScatterPod is Michael Bekemeyer’s online home for his creative ventures. The podcast has been home to his narrative fiction, as well as his current project “:60 of Life”, an experimental documentary web series capturing life’s precious moments sixty seconds at a time.
